THE ART DOCTOR is a qualified art restoration and conservation service dedicated to the care and repair of artworks and photographs. From ancient to contemporary, family heirlooms and keepsakes to museum pieces, all 'patients' are treated with equal respect.
Using the highest quality materials, The Art Doctor professionally treats paintings and frames, digitally  preserves and restores photographs and provides onsite assessments throughout metropolitan Melbourne and Mornington Peninsula.

The Art Doctor, AKA Cash Brown, has over 20 years of experience in the museum and gallery sector as a curator and conservator. Also a practicing artist, Cash has meticulous skills and a keen eye for detail. 

Specialising in the conservation of easel paintings, Cash also treats frames, painted objects and some works on paper. Click HERE for examples of treatments.

Fully insured for professional indemnity, works in transit and public liability, all work is undertaken with strict adherence to the Australian Institute for Conservation of Cultural Materials (AICCM) Code of Ethics and Code of Practice.

The Art Doctor Services:
  • Restoration and repairs of oil and acrylic paintings on canvas,board and paper, including tears, holes, cracking, flaking paint, cleaning dirt and mould, discoloured varnishes, transport damage, smoke, fire and water damage, aged discoloured varnishes, lining and re-stretching
  • Restoration and repairs of frames
  • High resolution scanning, digital restoration and printing of photographs, and documents 
  • Working with allied professionals, The Art Doctor can also restore and repair sculptures, works on paper and historical artefacts.
Good work takes time, along with a price quotation you will also receive an estimated time to completion.
